Foundation Board member
Sissy DeMaria receives big honor

Coral Gables Community Foundation Board member and Kreps DeMaria Public Relations & Marketing President Sissy DeMaria was recently honored at the 2014 Influential Business Women Awards.

The South Florida Business Journal held their annual luncheon for influential business women on September 5, 2014 at The Signature Grand in Davie, FL. Sissy was among a select number of women honored for their strong record of leadership, performance and innovation in their industries plus meaningful community involvement.

We remember Jerry Santeiro

The Foundation fondly remembers former Coral Gables Community Foundation Chairman Jerry Santeiro, a great friend dedicated to the Coral Gables community, who passed away on September 5, 2013.

In honor of his legacy, the Foundation renamed the Community Award, given out at the Annual Gala, the Jerry Santeiro Community Award. The Foundation also started a fund in Jerry's name, the Jerry Santeiro Community Fund, which is participating in the Piggy Bank Campaign. You may find the Fund's piggy bank and make a contribution to it at John Martin's Irish Pub & Restaurant - a favorite of Jerry's.

Coral Gables Community Foundation launches Piggy Bank Campaign

On September 9, 2014, Coral Gables Community Foundation fund holders, Board members and Merrick Society Members appropriately gathered at Swine Southern Table & Bar for the launch of the Foundation's new fundraising initiative - the Piggy Bank Campaign!  The collection of Piggy Banks dedicated to the Foundation's Funds was on display for everyone to see, and the hard work and effort that the Coral Gables Senior High School art students put into decorating them was celebrated.

The Piggy Bank Campaign will run through December. Don't forget to post photos of yourself making contributions to piggy banks to Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #SpotThePigCG. Whoever posts the most photos by November 10 will win a gift certificate to Swine!
