Horse Racing in Lexington featured at LexHistory
The copper horse weathervane (shown above) that topped the Old Fayette County Court House for more than a century is the centerpiece of the LexArts Gallery HOP exhibit at the Lexington History Museum offices.

The display will also include portraits of African-American jockeys from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a quilt featuring African-American jockeys and reproductions of historic postcards, photographs and maps of racetracks around town.

Open from 5-8 p.m. March 17, 2017, in the offices of the Lexington History Museum, Suite 312, The Square, 401 West Main Street in Lexington. 

This event is free and open to all.
