Hallandale Beach based Gulfstream Park announced recently that the Miami Sports Chiropractic & Yoga Center (based in Aventura) has become the official sports therapy center for its jockeys.

Miami Sports Chiropractic & Yoga Center will work on-site at Gulfstream to rehabilitate sports injuries while its team focuses on natural pain management as well as improving athletic performance including physical therapy, acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, and nutrition counseling.

The newly expanded Aventura facility of Miami Sports Chiropractic & Yoga Center will also offer yoga and Pilates for injuries.

"Jockeys are some of the toughest athletes in professional sports," said Dr. Sandra Doman, founder of Miami Sports Chiropractic & Yoga Center. "We are thrilled to support them with our unique approach to natural pain management and improving athletic performance."

Eclipse Award-winning and Racing Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez said: "The work Dr. Doman does is very important and it's vital for us. As athletes, we have to stay in shape and maintain nutrition and she helps a great deal with all of that. There are several different treatments, including acupuncture, stretching, spinal alignment and yoga that can help us maintain strength and conditioning."

Miami Sports Chiropractic & Yoga Center is the on-site chiropractic provider for the Dwyane Wade Basketball Camp and University of Miami Basketball Camp. Dr. Doman is the president of the Dade County Chiropractic Society.
