Lloyd Zucker MD
Lloyd Zucker, MD

Delray Medical Center is participating in a multi-centered clinical trial to see if progesterone, a hormone normally found in the human body, can reduce the amount of brain damage in patients with a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Neurological Surgeon Dr. Lloyd Zucker is the principal investigator on the study at Delray Medical Center. He said there will probably be more than 1500 total patients enrolled. "Part of our responsibility as a level 1 trauma center is to do research and educate," said Dr. Zucker. "Participating in this study allows us to be proactive in searching for a better way to treat head-injured patients."
