Do You Know a Healthcare Game Changer?
Baptist Health South Florida Named #2 on FORBES' Most Loved by Their Employees List
Baptist Health South Florida has been recognized as one of the best healthcare organizations to work for in an annual survey recently conducted by Forbes. Headquartered in Coral Gables, Baptist Health ranks number two on this distinguished list, behind Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, - the only healthcare organization in the region on the list.

"We are very proud that Baptist Health earned a top spot on the Forbes list. Our mission statement is rooted in our commitment to integrity, and our values define the way we treat our patients and employees and carry out business," said Brian E. Keeley, President and Chief Executive Officer of Baptist Health. "We work hard to ensure that all of our employees have the tools and support they need in order to grow both personally and professionally."

As noted in the Forbes survey, employees had great things to say about Baptist Health including their work environment and work/life balance. The healthcare system's management is described as "very knowledgeable and competent," while another reviewer points to a "diversity of cultures and personalities" that makes Baptist Health "an interesting place to learn." Another reviewer comments, "We have access to learning tools, technical support, and guidance. Leadership is always available to listen and work to improve processes."

In the research published by Forbes, current and former employees reviewed their hospital and/or healthcare organizations based on their overall employee experience.
Cancer Treatment Centers of America and Foundation Medicine Join Forces to Advance Precision Cancer Treatment
Boca Raton based Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) and Foundation Medicine (based in MA) recently announced a new element to their longstanding partnership to increase awareness of advancements in genomic testing and precision medicine in oncology. The educational initiative directed toward physicians, other caregivers and patients will highlight the importance of integrating comprehensive genomic testing of solid tumors early in an individual's care plan as a model to inform personalized care and improve clinical outcomes for individuals with cancer.
"Precision cancer treatment using advanced genomic testing is changing the science of cancer care," said Maurie Markman, MD, President of Medicine & Science at CTCA. "As oncologists, we have an obligation to the patients we serve to keep pace with, and, whenever possible, lead the way in the application of the latest diagnostic tools that may help inform treatment decisions. Our partnership with Foundation Medicine empowers our physicians to customize treatment plans according to the individual patient's clinical profile right down to the molecular level, and therefore furnish care in a much more comprehensive and effective manner."
