Insurance Careers Month
GIS Success Story and Re-Cap! Thank you!

Thank you to all of you who participated in and supported the Second Annual Insurance Careers Month. Whether you were using the hashtags #GammaIS and #CareerTrifecta, like and sharing our posts, student videos and photos, providing helpful information about the industry, or sharing your perspective on why insurance careers are a great choice, you made a huge impact on this grassroots campaign!

There are a few notable moments that we would like to highlight:
  • GIS' first Live-Tweet sessions hosted by Noelle Codispoti, and your International Student Representatives Celeste Azubuike and Sarah Rumon were a huge success! GIS certainly got the attention of the industry and your networks.
  • In December, the Grand Chapter challenged our students to participate in a video contest. Eight schools participated in the challenge. If you have not already done so, please visit the Grand Chapter Insurance Careers Month YouTube Playlist to watch all the video submissions.

The following two schools were the winners of the Student Video Challenge!
Other Participant Schools:
  • Beta Phi at the University of Texas at Dallas
  • Iota at Florida State University
  • Beta Lambda at Butler University
  • Alpha Tau at UNC at Charlotte
  • Beta Xi at St. Mary's University
  • Beta Iota at Troy University
*An honorary mention goes to the Sigma Chapter at Temple University, who submitted on the last day of Insurance Careers Month just to get the message out!

The Grand Chapter's postings received a great amount of attention from our followers, thank you for your activity on our pages!

Insurance Careers Month may be over but the Insurance Careers Movement continues! Follow the Grand Chapter!

GIS Alumni
Enjoy Staying Involved!

GIS Alumni gather frequently to network, reunite and have fun, as well as to mentor, connect with and assist the next generation of GIS professionals. Join a chapter near you, or start one in your city! Please contact Alumni Council President, Jake Timmins at Jake.Timmins@rtspecialty.com or Vice President, Sabrina Hanitz at Sabrina.Hanitz@AIG.com for information on starting a chapter in your area!

You can also visit the Alumni Council Webpage to contact your local leaders.

The GIS Dallas Alumni Council partnered with the Beta Phi Chapter at the University of Texas - Dallas for a fundraising event. A local Thai restaurant offered to donate 25% of their proceeds to the Beta Phi Chapter. Both alumni and students gathered for dinner and shared valuable conversations. We were able to raise nearly $400 for their chapter! Pictured below.

Another great alumni event took place recently. Members of the GIS Indianapolis Alumni Council as well as students from the Beta Lambda chapter at Butler University, met at a local bar and grill called Scotty's Dawghouse on Butler's campus yesterday to network and watch Butler's basketball game on February 26th. Pictured below.
