The Insurance Industry's Virtual Career Fair for Collegiate Talent!


 
On the occasion of Insurance Careers Month, The Pipeline Virtual Career Fair brings employers together with college students pursuing a career in the insurance industry, providing access to companies seeking entry-level and internship candidates.  This event, on Tuesday, February 13th, is open to ALL students regardless of their affiliation with Gamma Iota Sigma.  With an estimated 400,000 jobs needed to be filled by 2020, the insurance industry is looking to hire and engage with students of all interests:  risk management, finance, economics, information technology, data analytics, human resources, marketing and so much more!  Spread the word, tell your friends...the insurance industry is HIRING!

Special thanks to officers from the Sigma, Alpha Iota, Beta Epsilon and Beta Pi chapters, who were in attendance, as well as officers and alumni from the Chi chapter. Gamma Iota Sigma's First Regional Conference 
#GIS Is Expanding Its Offerings! 

 
Gamma Iota Sigma strives to grow, expand, and improve its offerings and resources to its student members year after year and, as a result, is launching its first Regional Conference. The goal is to allow students who do not have the opportunity, or were unable to attend the Gamma Iota Sigma Annual Conference, an opportunity to engage with other GIS chapters and the industry, while gaining invaluable knowledge, expertise, and connections from across the country. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity!

Location: Columbus, Ohio, at The Ohio State University
Agenda: Chapters will have the opportunity to experience educational sessions, keynote speakers, alumni and industry panels, chapter management workshops, ample networking opportunities, social events, and a Career Fair.

This year, hundreds of GIS students volunteered, gave, and made an impact in their local communities during the week of October 14-21, 2017. NAPSLO's Surplus Lines Symposium Recap
Hosted by Troy University's Sorrell College of Business
 
On October 19-20, the Beta Iota Chapter at Troy University, through the Sorrell College of Business, hosted NAPSLO's Surplus Lines Symposium in Atlanta, GA.



Members from the Alpha Mu Chapter (top left) at Virginia Commonwealth University attended the symposium.

The annual symposium featured a career fair, reception/dinner and educational sessions with various presenters from the surplus lines industry, and received sponsorship from the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation.

Details: The Alpha Kappa Chapter at the Katie School of Insurance at Illinois State University hosts an annual Extreme Risk Takers Symposium. The symposium is an educational program sponsored by the Derek Hughes/NAPSLO Educational Foundation on the surplus lines insurance market and offers sessions and networking opportunities with peers and industry professionals.

GIS continues to support the IICF in their efforts to bring about relief for the victims of the recent hurricanes, through the Hurricane Irma Disaster Relief Fund and the Hurricane Harvey relief fund. 100% of the donations will be directed to local nonprofit organizations working directly in the affected areas.
