2017 Leadership Symposium
Your Leaders are Prepared for a Great School Year!

From August 25 through August 27, 94 student leaders from 68 chapters gathered in Columbus, Ohio for this year's Leadership Symposium.  The days were long and packed with activity, but also fun and productive!

Friday's session included a "Meet and Greet" with 21 of Gamma Iota Sigma's Sustaining Partners followed by first-ever career reception with those Sustaining Partners. During the mini career fair, students were able to have one on one discussions with those organizations.  Nationwide provided Leadership Training to the group later in the day. For evening fun, students went to Magic Mountain Fun Center for pizza, arcade games, go-karts and miniature golf.

On Saturday, students participated in discussions and sessions focused on a variety of topics to get prepared for the new school year. The day ended with dinner out at Gordon Biersch Brewery that evening. After sessions Sunday morning learning chapter reporting and getting details on the Annual Conference, students departed well-prepared and geared up for a wonderful 2017-2018!

Thank you to all of the attendees, and to the planning committee who created a great program for this group. It was an exciting and fun weekend!

"Dive In" at the Annual International Conference
GIS Hosts the Festival for Diversity & Inclusion in Insurance for the Second Year in a Row!

GIS is proud to again host the Dive In Festival at this year's Annual International Conference!

Similar to last year, the Festival is global and includes cities and events where diversity and inclusion initiatives and programs are taking center stage. In 2016, GIS students created a diversity committee to give themselves a voice in this topic and the enthusiasm has continued.

Dive In is helping insurance get fit for the future, highlighting the business case for diverse and inclusive workplaces and providing practical ideas and inspiration for how to bring about positive change.

Programming for the conference is being planned and GIS is thrilled to offer this opportunity to share with our members for the second time!

For more information about the festival, and to appreciate our excitement about its inclusion in the conference, please visit: http://diveinfestival.com.
