Colorado Women's Alliance endorses
Cory Gardner for US Senate

Since our founding, Colorado Women's Alliance has been in conversation with women from every walk of life. We talk about the worries that keep them up at night and the dreams that light their spirits in the morning. Through surveys, polling, focus groups, blog posts, social media, and events, we invite women to talk with us about what matters to them.

In the upcoming election, the big issues on the minds of Colorado women might surprise you.

What women are talking about is the rising cost of living, job insecurity, and uncertainty about continued health insurance coverage under Obamacare. After six long years of recession, the economy continues to sputter and women feel vulnerable. Student achievement hasn't improved and drug use is on the rise.

These are the concerns women are talking about and the issues that will guide our choices this November.

It is with these real concerns in mind that Colorado Women's Alliance shares the following candidate endorsement:

United States Senate: Cory Gardner

Colorado Senator Mark Udall has followed a Washington, D.C. election "war on women" playbook designed to scare women into thinking birth control is the only issue this election. Yet, Colorado Women's Alliance polling of independent women revealed that a majority of women simply aren't buying the pickup line this year, despite six ads and millions of dollars spent by the Udall campaign.

Udall was born into a political dynasty and has spent the past 18 years in political office. Not surprisingly, he behaves more like a Washington, D.C. insider than a senator from an independent- minded western state. Udall has voted for President Obama's priorities 99% of the time.

In contrast, Cory Gardner brings a fresh energy and an inspiring vision for our future. He is a family man with rural, working-class roots. He understands what life is like for working families. When Cory says he will "shake up the Senate," we believe him.

We support his thoughtful vision for taking power away from DC and putting it back in the hands of Coloradans on key issues like education and health care. Cory has demonstrated the ability to work across the aisle to get good things done. He has the head and the heart for the kind of complex leadership required in today's divided world.
Colorado Women's Alliance supports research, education, and advocacy in areas of concern to women voters. The organization views the common concerns among all women as providing high-quality education to all children, protecting seniors, creating economic vitality, preserving safety and quality of life, and providing affordable health care. In addition to creating alliances and coalitions among women, Colorado Women's Alliance will promote and educate women on issues and candidates, and conduct ongoing research on the values and concerns of women. Like us on Facebook   Follow us on Twitter
