Amanda Rischbieth (2017) is getting 'hands on' in Sri Lanka. Together with the Hands On Project, Dr. Rischbieth will travel to Sri Lanka to fit prosthetic hands to landmine victims. Over 14 days, the group will fit approximately 200 prosthetic hands.

Mark Mantovani (2016) is offering his vision for improving St. Louis County. Mr. Mantovani appeared on St. Louis Public Radio to outline his plan for a path forward as candidate for county executive.

Karen Green (2015), Associate Justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court, and her husband Mark Green, Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, gave the Markel Lecture in Law and Public Policy on April 10 at Harvard's Lowell House. Their discussion of issues facing the judiciary was organized by Ken Kaufman (2016), a law advisor and member of the Lowell House Senior Common Room.

Alberto Mora (2014) says CIA Director-nominee Gina Haspel is a known torturer. Mr. Mora recently authored an article for Politico Magazine urging the US Senate to withhold consent for Haspel's nomination.

Dennis Scholl (2012) is giving local artists the support they need to thrive. Mr. Scholl, CEO of ArtCenter South Florida, announced a $500,000 grant program to fund Miami-based artists.

Tony Barash (2010) is helping inmates in Chicago change the narrative of their lives. Mr. Barash's ConTextos has been leading a memoir-writing class for detainees awaiting trial in Cook County Jail and was featured in the ABA Journal.
 
Don Arthur (2009) and Gale Pollock (2011) are taking a stand against the US Department of Defense's transgender ban. Vice Adm., Ret. Arthur and Maj. Gen., Ret. Pollock co-authored a report that says the Pentagon's own data contradicts its recommendations on transgender troops.

ALI Chair & Director Rosabeth Moss Kanter (HBS) has a plan for what employers should do about #MeToo. Professor Kanter offered insights in a recent article for Forbes on what companies can do to curb sexual harassment. 

ALI Faculty Co-Chair Frank Dobbin (FAS) says Starbucks' anti-bias trainings are little more than a symbolic gesture. In an  article for Vox, Professor Dobbin offered his thoughts on the company's response to discrimination in one of its stores.
 
ALI Faculty Co-Chair Howard Koh (SPH) says health outcomes in the US depend largely on geography. In an  editorial for JAMA, Dr. Koh explains the findings of the Global Burden of Disease study that show vast health disparities across the country.
