Gender Queer 101
Want to know the difference between sex, gender, gender expression, gender roles and sexual orientation?

Max Rorty, our knowledgeable and entertaining speaker will delve into these topics and more!
We will review the identities of trans men and trans women, as well as gender non-normative people, including butches and transvestites. Discussion will include some of the institutional barriers to transgender care and practice on asking for gender pronouns.

Max is a cis-female social worker at Cottage Hospital, a commissioner for the city council, and a disaster mental health responder for the American Red Cross.  She is an authority on best practices for health providers working with transgender and genderqueer people.
