Cool Ideas
Intergenerational Music Therapy
University of Louisville's faculty recently conducted an innovative intergenerational research study using music therapy. They brought together three year olds and elders with cognitive impairments including dementia and Alzheimer's for a three-month, semi-weekly program focused on movement and literacy. Learn more.

Research and Resources
All In Together: Creating Places Where Young And Old Thrive. This new report from Generations United and The Eisner Foundation  includes the findings of two national surveys, profiles of model programs and recommendations for how we can increase the number of intergenerational shared sites .   Learn more .

Working with Kinship Caregivers.  The U.S. Children's Bureau has just posted a resource    to help child welfare professionals promote kinship care by providing kinship caregivers with information, referral, and support services to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of children in their care.    Learn more .

Intergenerational Programming in Senior Housing: From Promise to Practice.  This report describes findings from a year-long study on the nature and extent of intergenerational programming in senior housing that was conducted by Generations United and LeadingAge, with support from the Retirement Research Foundation.  Learn more.
