Mom & Me & Mom by Maya Angelou
In honor of Black History Month, we share Mom & Me & Mom, the seventh and final book in author Maya Angelou's series of autobiographies. It tells the vivid story of Angelou's experiences growing up with her grandmother in Stamps, Arkansas, after her mother abandoned her and her sister as young children. Angelou's reunion with the woman she called "Lady" took place when the author was a teenager, and began a decades-long period of reconciliation. This memoir delves into the healing that takes place through the presence of love.

Cool Ideas
All Together Now
Also for Black History Month, this week's cool idea is  All Together Now  through Story Center, which invites older adults and youth across the US to honor the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement and narrow the generation gap through story.

Got something cool you tried that was successful? Why not tweet your cool intergenerational ideas to  #cooligideas ? You can also post them to our  Intergenerational   Connections   Facebook Group. We want to highlight innovative age-optimized programs and practices through our blog, social media and weekly e-newsletter!  Share the inspiration .   Learn more about All Together Now .
