Recap of Young Adult Convening in D.C.!
Rage Against The Machine's front man, Zack de la Rocha, once noted his amazement at young people's ability to "question...care deeply about justice, and...have open minds." This past weekend, he would've been proud to see a roomful of 35 youth talk about breaking the generational gap in their communities during Saturday morning's circle discussion. These Jumpstart Grantees and Super Fellows have been recognized by Generations United and Mentor Up, a new way to make a difference from AARP Foundation, for developing and leading creative age-amped (intergenerational) programs to address the needs of vulnerable adults aged 50 and over. This weekend, they captured older adults' life stories and engaged in a stone soup exercise. They also got some inspiring words from Aaron Smith, co-founder of the Young Invincibles. Scroll through our Twitter account and Facebook page for additional photos and highlights.

Road Scholar Helps Grandma and Grandson Bond Better
It was while listening to the radio that Linda Sonier stumbled upon a way to bond better with her second-born grandchild, Alex. Taiwan Intergenerational Study Tour - 2014 A few years ago, a good friend, who's a professor at a Maryland university, benefited from a teaching exchange initiative that took him and several other educators to China. On that trip, he shared his experiences with international practitioners and compared education trends with scholars in his field. He immersed himself in a rich new environment that taught him a great deal about his profession-and himself. Well, Pennsylvania State University, in partnership with National Taichung University of Education and Travel & Learn LLC, are offering a similar opportunity for intergenerational program facilitators and managers to travel to Taiwan.
