In response Generations United urges advocates for babies, children, youth and older people to stand united in support of policies that connect and invest in people across the lifespan.  View Generations United Public Policy Agenda  and stay tuned to our Blog for updates.

Generations United also helps lead the Social Services Block Grant (SSBG) Coalition, a group of organizations dedicated to the well-being of children, youth, older adults and people with disabilities. Six Degrees of Separation
Inspired by a true story, this critically acclaimed play (a 2017 Tony Award nominee) follows the trail of a mysterious young con man who insinuates himself into the lives of a wealthy New York couple, claiming he's the son of actor Sidney Poitier. After a shocking surprise, the couple tries to piece together the connections that brought him into their world. The intergenerational connection is shown in this passage from the play's 4th scene: "I am bound to everyone on this planet by a trail of six people. It's a profound thought. How every person is a new door, opening up into other worlds. Six degrees of separation between me and everyone else on this planet. But to find the right six people." Learn more

Culture United highlights films, books, music and TV shows with an intergenerational theme. Do you have any suggestions? Share them with us and we'll share in the weeks and months to come. We welcome responses or reactions. We'll possibly feature them on our blog. See disclaimer.

Quote
"The future of today's young is the last report card for today's old. Our fates are shared, even if we don't look alike. That's not just my opinion. In this great, big, mixed-up country of ours, it's what most Americans think." ~Paul Taylor, author of "The Next America: Boomers, Millennials and the Looming Generational Showdown."
