National Foster Care Month 2017 Website Now Live
The Children's Bureau - in collaboration with its information service, Child Welfare Information Gateway - launched the National Foster Care Month 2017 (NFCM) website! With this year's theme, "Empowering Caregivers, Strengthening Families," the website provides free resources and tools to help identify, develop, and support current foster and kinship caregivers. Partners in Rhyme
In celebration of National Poetry Month, this week's cool idea is  Partners in Rhyme, a Massachusetts-based intergenerational poetry program where older adults explore poetry with either preschool children or high school students in their classroom.  Learn more

The Encore Prize: Generation to Generation Challenge. Encore.Org will award $100,000 in cash prizes, coaching and a year of ongoing support to help innovators of any age come up with new ways to bring the talents of older adults to benefit youth. Deadline: May 7, 2017. Learn more

Funding Opportunity for Early Career Researchers to Increase Health & Equity. New Connections, a national project of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, is a career development program for early career researchers. The program offers funding to investigators from "historically disadvantaged backgrounds" - challenges individuals may have faced because of their race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, physical, learning or other disability, or because they are first-generation college graduates. Deadline: May 16, 2017. Learn more

Grants for the Benefit of Homeless Individuals. SAMHSA is seeking applications for up to $47.5 million in grants to help youth and families experiencing homelessness. SAMHSA expects to fund up to 24 grantees for up to $400,000 per year for up to five years. Deadline: April 25, 2017.   Learn more
