GrandFamilies: The Contemporary Journal of Research, Practice and Policy

The editors and managing staff launched the first edition of GrandFamilies: The Contemporary Journal of Research, Practice and Policy, which includes a policy article from Ana Beltran, special advisor of Generations United's National Center on Grandfamilies. In addition to articles, the journal features reviews on issues related to grandparents raising grandchildren. The editors welcome feedback. Check out the online journal.

San Diego County, California, became a 2012 Generations United Best Intergenerational Communities Awards winner for good reason: its commitment to making life better for all generations. Check out the Health and Human Services Agency's Aging & Independence Services directory of the county's intergenerational efforts that includes a summary of each program along with its goals, objectives, outcomes, funding sources, and contact information. Family Volunteer Day Grants. GenerationOn, with generous support from Disney Friends for Change, is giving out $1,000 grants and event day service kits to affiliates or nonprofit organizations around the country. Deadline: Sept. 4, 2014. Learn more
