| DO YOU HAVE A SERVICE PORTFOLIO!
If not, you should start one NOW!
| Don't forget to keep your own record of ALL
your service in a Service Portfolio.
What is a service portfolio?
A notebook which you keep track of EVERYTHING you do with detailed information. This is a crucial part of your volunteer experience.
Even when you sign-in somewhere, have school forms completed or get a letter from organization ... be sure to keep the same records for yourself.
Your Service Portfolio should consist of all (or most) of the following information:
Name of Volunteer Project
Location of Project
Description of what you did as a volunteer.
List any leadership positions you may have held.
Materials from event.
Pictures of you volunteering.
Copies of emails regarding event.
Name of Volunteer Contact / Coordinator.
Their email and phone number
You may even want to write about the volunteer experience: about what you liked, didn't like, why you thought it was meaningful, what you may have learned about yourself or your community. This will help you in the future when you are applying for scholarships/awards. Hundreds of applications require essays and reflections about passed volunteer experiences.
Service Portfolios are not required but they become a great resource for you when you are inquiry about service scholarships and awards. Please always be responsible for your service experience. ManaTEENs and your school are not always perfect and its important to always have back up.
If you need help with your service portfolio call Laura at 761-3207 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org and she can help you get started!!

If you sign up before April 15 you get 3 stickers in your passport for discounts on travel for your own family and the host family student will get 60 community service hours! This group is immersion and doesn't have to be taken to school. They have one field trip a week and host family teens can go with us. We are going to Airheads in Tampa, International Mall, Tervis Tumbler to make our own cups, Venice Beach for Shark teeth, etc etc!
Chinese group will be here August 2 - 17. We have 34 students and 2-3 chaperones. (These dates could change slightly when they get a little closer to the students arrival. )
The students have been studying English at school in their home countries and
come here to improve their skills.
You get to pick the student you would like to host, (age and sex) by reading profiles on each student. The kids are between 13-18 years old.
Exchange students bring their own spending money and are fully medically insured.
Host family children over the age of 12 are allowed to join their exchange student
