I don't know if you are as frustrated as we are, but we feel like Washington does not even listen to us anymore. The time has come to get out from behind the keyboard and engage! The debt / budget crisis is one of the most important issues that our country has ever faced and we need to turn up the heat NOW on Washington.
American Grassroots Coalition is very proud to be a part of a huge coalition of grassroots and tea party leaders all across the country working to stop the debt, cap the spending, and balance the budget. The American people are overwhelmingly in support of balanced budget amendment. We have been asking law makers, activists, and Americans all across the country to sign and commit to the Cut, Cap and Balance Pledge.
Right now, we have a national debt of over $14.3 trillion. There is no time to spare. With a debt ceiling vote looming, we are asking all leaders and grassroots organizers across the country to help us make our voices loud and clear.
At this time we have 36 House members, 12 Senators, 4 Governors, and 8 Presidential Candidates that have signed on to the pledge. Most importantly, over 150 Tea Party groups and over 183,000 Americans have signed the pledge.
There will be a vote on the BBA the week of July 18th. In order for the vote to pass, 290 votes are needed. At this time we need to be sure that ALL Republicans are on board with balancing the budget as well as 50 additional Democrats.
We need your help! Here is what you can do to help stop the insanity that has become the norm in Washington:
Thursday, July 14th
- Visit congressional district offices at 12 Noon all across the country. You can locate your district office, along with printable copy of the pledge HERE. If you cannot go at 12 Noon, then stop by at a time that is convenient for you. If you cannot go Thursday, go on Friday.
- Tweet and post on FaceBook that you are going and why!
- Document your visit by taking pictures and videos.
- If you can't be there call, email and fax your representative's offices. Tweet and post on Facebook that a Balanced Budget Amendment must be passed.
Tell Your Leaders
- Vote YES for a Balanced Budget Amendment
- Support and sign the Cut, Cap & Balance Pledge

Tweet your Congressional members, Senators, Governor, Presidential Candidates, tweet everyone you know! Tell them to balance the budget and stop spending money!
