Nutrition Updates on the Way
Hans Rueffert
In the coming months, one of the Foundation's "Big Hearts" Chef Hans Rueffert, of Georgia's famed Woodbridge Inn, will be sharing his experience and expertise through monthly features on better nutrition for stomach cancer patients. Look for his entertaining short videos.

In summer 2005, two weeks after taping the finale for the Next Food Network Star, Rueffert was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He ended up having half of his stomach and half of his esophagus removed.

MD Anderson Cancer Center recently profiled how Hans is savoring life after stomach cancer. "Having been told three times now that I might not have a tomorrow, today I genuinely eat like there's no tomorrow."

Today he is cancer free and enjoys food as much as ever, and is very excited to share his insights in coming issues.

Hearts Big Enough to Help
In this month of Valentine's celebrations, we invite you to share your "Big Hearts" stories of those who have offered inspiration or provided comfort to you or your family in your struggle with gastric cancer.   They say the power of storytelling can see us through because personal examples can help us appreciate others' unique and yet relatable experiences, while reminding us how we too might provide comfort. Share your story of "Big Hearts" with us here.
