In celebration of Park & Recreation Month, we've got your it-list of ways to Get Your Play On at our parks, aquatic and recreation centers.

During Park & Recreation Month, the City of Chandler is encouraging you to Get Your Play On and try one (or all) of the suggested ways to play for a chance to win weekly-family-fun packs.

Visit your local Chandler Aquatic or Recreation Center to pick up a copy of the official summer   PLAYlist . As you enjoy action, art and adventure activities collect stamps and fun giveaways. The more you play; the more chances you have to win.

Star-Spangled Spectacular
Party in the Park
Celebrate freedom, fireworks and fun for the entire family at the City of Chandler's  July 4th Fireworks Spectacular
The party in the park reigns across Tumbleweed from 5 to 10:30 p.m. with a high energy celebration, complete with live music, food vendors, and kid activities; all leading up to Chandler's largest sky-illuminating fireworks display kicking off at 9 p.m. Admission into the park is free and onsite parking is available for $5 per vehicle.

Parade Entry Applications are now available. Families, marching bands, civic organizations, neighborhoods, dance troupes, and businesses are all encourage to apply now, as space is limited. 

Entries must be received on or before Friday, October 13 to be considered

Play It Cool
1.  Play It Cool 
From splash pads to spraygrounds and award-winning aquatic centers, Chandler is a treasure trove of ways to beat the heat. Dive into savings this summer by taking advantage of $1 admission for the entire family and free swim opportunities at any of Chandler's six aquatic facilities now through August.
Art Camp
2. Strokes of Genius  
Got a budding artist on your hand? Art Camp is the perfect setting for kids ages six through 12 to get in touch with their creative side. Little Picassos enjoy an array of crafts using a wide variety of materials and techniques. Camp concludes with a visually entertaining art show. 
3. Make Some Racquet
Meet your match for some friendly competition on the court with Chandler Tennis Center's Doubles Drop-In . This 2-hour drop-in gives players a chance to meet new people over the thrill of competition in a low-key atmosphere. No partner, no problem. Players are matched up randomly each week.
4. Cast Your Prediction
Weather or not you're a fan of storms, young meteorologists will become instant enthusiasts for Wild Weather! Fuel a future forecaster's imagination with an exploration of extreme weather conditions:  monsoons, hurricanes and desert heat. Come rain or shine weatherpersons will participant in hands-on learning activities.

Embrace the dog days of summer with a cool walk in the park. Chandler's dog parks offer a number of exciting ways for your and Fido to exercise and socialize.
Chase Field
6.  Play Ball
Bring on the peanuts and CrackerJacks; baseball season is in full swing and Chandler's active adult takes you out to the ballgame. Join us Tuesday, August 1 for a Chase Field Tour to get a behind-the-scenes look at a Major League Baseball facility.
7.  Whip Up Kitchen Creations
Treat your fascinated foodie to a hands-on cooking class with Chandler Therapeutic Recreation. Using fresh ingredients little chefs will prepare easy summer meals and snacks. A Recipe for success, Therapeutic Cooking  helps youth learn basic culinary skills and build confidence in the kitchen.

Those athletic pursuits don't have to stop at nostalgia-Chandler actually has many Adult Sports Leagues at varying degrees of competitiveness and time commitment. Push your fitness journey beyond your limits. Beyond Boot Camp
is a fast-paced cardio and resistance training program designed to test your physical and mental limits. Under the guidance of a certified personal trainer you'll learn high-octane cardio and muscle-burning moves to give you a total body workout.
10. Pull Some Strings 
Guitar for Beginners struck a chord with us as a great way to get your teen in tune with a love of music. This hands-on music class offers engaging insights on musical theories and the fundamentals of playing guitar.
