school  holidays

Encourage your kids to become earth warriors and get into the green scene with our April school holiday program.

You'll find a range of super exciting events and activities to suit all ages - from getting up close with Australian wildlife and creating their own pot plant to learning about astronomy and basic robotics. Take a sneak peek at what's on here.

Get in quick and book your spot as spaces are limited.  Call your local City of PAE Library or visit the Event Calendar on the library website to book online.
PAWS - an inclusive storytime

If you are after a more sensory based storytime for your child, PAWS could be for you.

Held fortnightly during school term at Port Adelaide Library, the inclusive sessions are for children aged 2-5 years. Each storytime features specifically selected toys and visual aids to help kids with stories, songs and playtime - you'll even get to meet our mascot, Polka Dot Puppy. Siblings are welcome.

Tara brings her daughter Emma to PAWS and says "Often kids like Emma have to miss out on library storytime and other activities because of their special needs. PAWS recognises that kids with disabilities need a special program with volunteers who understand the ir
needs."

Staff Profile - Tegan

What is your role within the libraries?
I currently work as a Library Officer in the Collections team. Amongst other things, my role is to handle requests from customers for the library to purchase new items, select materials for the collection, manage interlibrary loans, and do various maintenance tasks to help keep the library's collections relevant and up to date.

What's the best thing about your job?
Buying new items for the library and adding them to the catalogue to get them into the hands of people who have requested them.

What's your favourite book?
Far too many to name! My favourites include earlier Dean
Koontz books (especially Lightning), Plutarch's Lives, and
JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series.
