A longtime friend of mine loves to play golf, and he has a great business that he built one client at a time. It's not a glamourous business, but it is a good business that serves others and makes him a lot of money. He started out at the bottom and just kept at it.
Along the way, he learned to play golf and became very good at it. Gradually, he merged his interest in golf with the development of relationships that turned into business. That worked well, and he kept doing it. He told me one time, "Everything I've done, I owe to golf."
One day I was on the phone with him, and he said to me, "Hank, a friend of mine has invited me to go with him on his private jet to play golf at Pebble Beach, but I've got a lot of work to do at the office..."
I laughed and said, "Bob, are you kidding, get on the jet!" He did and it turned out that was a really good choice that led to lots of great opportunities. What new opportunities are right in front of you that could take you to a whole new level?
