Getting Ready for Spring with Your Pet
Spring is upon us! With the rising temperatures and nicer weather, many dogs and their families begin venturing outdoors more in search of fun things to do together, and some cats may start demanding outside time. As spring arrives there are some things that you, as a responsible pet owner, can do to ensure everyone has a safe and fun time.

We invite our community of supporters to attend our April 22, 2017 Annual Meeting. From 3:00pm - 4:30pm, you can meet the Board of Directors and see some of the behind-the-scenes workings of Kitsap Humane Society's administrative team.
This annual meeting will take place in the Canal Room at the Best Western Silverdale Beach Hotel.

Easter is Sunday, April 16 - Kitsap Humane Society will be OPEN for adoptions, AND we are celebrating with an Easter Adoption Eggstravaganza!
Easter is the perfect time to bring your whole family in to give a homeless pet a loving home. During the event, every adopter will get to draw an Easter egg out of a basket, and inside each egg will be a prize! Adopters can win free KHS merchandise, free pet supplies, or a discount on their adoption fee, and one lucky adopter will even win a FREE adoption!

Our hours have changed!
Effective April 1, the shelter has new hours!
Adoption hours are now:
🐾 Monday - 12-5:30pm
🐾 Tuesday - CLOSED
🐾 Wednesday - 12-5:30pm
🐾 Thursday - 12-5:30pm
🐾 Friday - 12-6:30pm *NOW OPEN LATE!*
🐾 Saturday - 12-5:30pm
🐾 Sunday - 12-5:30pm
Stray Animal Admissions and Reclaims are now:
🐾 Every day 12-5:00pm
Owner surrenders are still by appointment.

Magpie is a gorgeous, young, sweet kitty looking for a loving forever home. She is approximately 10 months old and currently in foster care. Magpie is a gentle, loving kitty who will make someone a great companion. She needs special care for dental issues so Magpie will need a special home.

Meet this month’s Volunteer Spotlight – Gary Volz!
Gary started volunteering in Dec 2016. During that time has served over 100 volunteer hours!
Not only is Gary a dog walker and a Rescue Me volunteer for our transfer program, but he has also been a supporter of our upcoming FORE! The Animals Golf Tournament. Gary joined the event planning committee, has distributed posters & leaflets to golf courses across Kitsap and beyond, and has advertised FORE! through his various golfing connections.

Tax preparation that gives back!
Our friends at Liberty Tax Service held a supply drive for shelter animals from March 5 - 11 at all five of their Kitsap County tax locations. They provided complimentary tax preparation in exchange for a donation to the shelter! Liberty Tax Service collected a trunk full of items for KHS!

Pints for Pets is taking over Bremerton!
Join us on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at both LoveCraft Brewing Company and Dog Days Brewing Company in Downtown Bremerton from 6-8 pm. Both of our valued partners will be donating $1 from every pour to KHS during this two-hour window!
Leashed dogs and well-behaved children welcome. Hang out, drink beer, save some animals!
