From the Library Administrator
We are looking forward to wonderful holiday celebrations and programming this winter. As a public building, the Library strives to remain open and will not cancel programs due to weather unless conditions are potentially dangerous for patrons or staff. If we need to close early or open late we will post this information on our website and on our Facebook page. We will also update our voicemail message and attempt to notify anyone registered for programs.

If you are not yet following us on Facebook now is the time to start! Not only will you find the latest weather related news but we also highlight important library happenings for the day and week, share inspiration and post photos. You can also connect with us via TwitterPinterest and Flicker.

The Library continually adds to and enriches the resources available online through www.woodridgelibrary.org, allowing you access from home or with your mobile device. See below to access our latest database, lynda.com, which is getting rave reviews. Also our Book Talk Blog will inspire you to add new titles to your "must read" list or help you find the perfect book to share with someone special. This well written, sometime humorous resource makes delightful reading all by itself.  Finally, with e-books, e-magazines and e-resources available for all ages you'll always have great access to your library!

Another resource available to you is the "Kill A Watt" electricity usage monitor. This device can be checked out for your use at home to assess the energy efficiency of appliances. Simply plug an electric appliance into the monitor and you will get a measure of how much electricity it uses. Please see the staff at the Adult/YA Reference Desk for the monitor and instruction booklet.

Please join us at the Library for winter programming this December including the joyful Songs of the Season on Sunday, December 21 at 2 p.m. Also, the Children's Staff know how hectic the season can be and have planned several drop-in programs for which advanced registration is not required, including International Family Storytime: Arabic on Saturday, December 6 at 10 a.m.
