As practice begins for the 2017 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, LookSmart has announced a 1/18 scale resin replica of the #12 Ferrari 312 T3 driven to victory by the late, great Gilles Villeneuve in the inaugural GP on the circuit that now bears his name. It was the first of 6 Grand Prix victories for the brave Canadian in a career cut short by tragedy.

I may be mistaken, but it seems to me that the 312 T3 is one of the few Ferrari Grand Prix cars never to be modeled correctly. As a spectator at the 1978 Canadian Grand Prix on the ' Ile Notre Dame' and a big fan of Gilles Villeneuve and that era, I look forward to adding this model to my collection.

More than 25 years ago, we commissioned Nicholas Watts to capture Villeneuve's historic victory in the 1978 Canadian Grand Prix. The result was 'Ragged Edge', still one of the most exciting motor racing prints ever produced.

Nearly half the museum is filled with cars driven by AJ during his illustrious career, including all five - 4 as a driver, 1 as an owner - of his Indy 500 winning cars. Also included in the exhibit is an extensive selection of trophies and memorabilia and walls filled with photos and artwork chronicling his career. 

One piece caught our eye. A Ron Kleemann lithograph commissioned by Circle Gallery to commemorate Foyt's Fourth Win in 1977 as part of their Sports Art Series that year (above left). 

The print was made available in a signed and numbered limited edition (the print on display is 2/600) later that year An open edition was also produced. The prints are hand-pulled lithographs where one color is added at a time, an expensive, time consuming practice not seen much these days.
