Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago's "Passion & Fire"
an incredible success!

Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago's "Passion & Fire" was a moving and enthralling success this past weekend at the Harris Theater.  Our heartiest thanks to all who were able to attend and join in the high-energy, high-impact performances that this Chicago treasure brings to the stage.

Of the performances, critic Sid Smith of the Chicago Tribune said, Kiesha Lalama's premiere Alegrķa is "...fresh and creamy...entertaining, swift and alluring..." and filled with "kaleidoscopic, ingenious patterns that wash through the corps..."  Zac Whittenburg from TimeOutChicago stated that the revival of Gus Giordano's beloved Sing, Sing, Sing brings "the spark of inspiration to a roaring blaze."

And, one of our patrons posted this great message to Facebook:  "Again, Giordano inspires. There is a remarkable cultural flair and understanding at work in these numbers: powerful rhythms, a sort of dance diction, and a lovely, simmering, stylistic spirit. The new numbers, Alloy and Alegrķa are lyrical and jazzy and blend well with the wonderful purity of jazz brought back and re-remembered in Sing, Sing, Sing."

Mark your calendars for Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago's Spring performances, Friday & Saturday, March 9 & 10, 2012, 8 PM at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance.  We will see you then!

River North Dance Chicago's riveting engagement at the Harris Theater features the company premiere "SUPER STRAIGHT is coming down" - a fiercely physical, urban meltdown of epic proportions choreographed by Daniel Ezralow - along with Artistic Director Frank Chaves' acclaimed work, "Simply Miles Simply Us," his cool, jazz tribute to Miles Davis. The repertoire also includes the beautifully choreographed, "Al Sur Del Sur," a stunning suite of Argentinean tangos.
