We are pleased to announce Girl Be Heard's 2014-2015 season which will explore the theme of resiliency. Our work this year is honoring women and girls in our local community and across the globe who are working hard each day to rise above their given circumstances and make the world a safer place. In each of our new shows created and performed by Girl Be Heard company members, our writers/performers will share personal stories of resiliency in addition to stories of women and girls from their communities.

We invite you to join us in the theatre as our company takes on today's pressing sociopolitical issues including homelessness, displacement, sexual assault and rape on college campuses. Girl Be Heard is proud to be partnering with community organizations and non-governmental organization's across the world to bring you this new work.

As always, you can visit our website for the latest performance schedule, including tours and remounts of past work.

On behalf of the entire staff at Girl Be Heard, we thank you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you at the theater.

Sincerely,

Presented By: Girl Be Heard and Well Arts Institute

This ensemble show tells the story of what happens when children and their families fall further and further below the poverty line. It is told through the lens of young women who have experienced foster care, shelters, and poverty as a direct result of the recession. As the rich get richer, sex trafficking, substance abuse, depression and poverty plague the most vulnerable in our society -- our youth. America's Dirty Secret debuted in Portland, Oregon and is now being brought to New York City schools, detention centers and venues across the country. To book a show, contact [email protected]
