E-Weekly Header

April 29, 2013

Dear Girl Scout Family,

The Brownie Smile Song
"I've got something in my pocket, it belongs across my face,
I keep it very close to me in a most convenient place.
I'm sure you couldn't guess it if you guessed a long, long while,
So I'll take it out, and put it on, it's my great big Brownie Smile."

I don't know about you but when I hear that song I smile ... and think to the excitement of being a Girl Scout Brownie. Brownies love hanging out with their friends, doing service to the community, and every project they do makes their eyes sparkle.

That excitement was certainly the spirit I felt when I talked with our Top Cookie Seller, Audrey,  this week. Audrey got a bit of a shy smile when she told me she sold 1,500 packages. She wasn't shy about her strategy or sharing tips for other Cookie Sellers. Read an interview with Audrey & her mom Nancy ...

I saw the dancing eyes in many adults this week as I attended the Volunteer Recognition Celebrations in Brainerd and St. Cloud. It made my eyes misty more than once! So many amazing volunteers sharing their time and talent with Girl Scouts. Three cheers for our adult volunteers! Hip ... Hip...

There's really no doubt about it, Girl Scout Volunteers ROCK! That's the theme for our Volunteer Recognition Campaign as established by Girl Scout Cadette Amanda from Baxter (who I also got to meet this week!).  Today, Jackie, from Duluth won our prize package for submitting a photo showing us how she's using her vinyl window cling. We will be choosing winners each week throughout the month of May. Volunteers check your Leader's Day card for details. Feel free to contact me with questions.

May every single day of your week make you feel as excited about Girl Scouting as a second grade Brownie!  Have a great week, Girl Scouts!
