Celebrate Girl Scout Week With Healthy Activities Related to Journeys
Did you know that resources are available to help you customize the Girl Scout Journeys to make them more closely reflect the interests of your troop?
Are your girls involved in sports and interested in having an active lifestyle? Do you have girls who are interested in cooking and want to learn more about healthy food options? These can all be part of their Girl Scout Journey! Activities with a healthy twist can easily be incorporated into many of the Journeys, and the Healthy Habits booklet present sample sessions for your girls to try.
Healthy Habits activity books are available for the Daisy Between Earth and Sky, Brownie Wonders of Water, and Junior Get Moving! Journeys.
Our Council is partnering with the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation to encourage girls to make healthy responsible choices, now and into the future.

Visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/artofindependence to fill out the survey if you have earned this badge from July 2013 to June 2014 and we will send you a free Art of Independence patch brought to you by GEICO!
Step 2:
Safety is the number one concern of parent leaving their kids with babysitters, so it is important to learn how to keep kids safe and be a good babysitter. Learn these crucial skills by interviewing five moms, interviewing five experienced babysitters/nannies, or attending an official babysitter training course. Training courses are offered through the Red Cross, urban sitter, or the Girl Scout's Council of the Nation's Capital. To learn more about first aid try your cadette first aid badge or choose a babysitter course that also includes first aid. Many courses also offer CPR training, an important skill that many parents want their babysitters to have!
