EarthEcho International: Campaign for a Toxin-Free Generation Video Contest!
: Girl Scouts ages 13 to 18

When: Deadline is May 24, 2013

EarthEcho International and Seventh Generation Foundation have partnered to engage youth across the country in a new campaign and video contest to help remove toxins in their homes, schools, and communities. 


As a part of Seventh Generation's Campaign for a Toxin-Free Generation, the partnership has launched a video contest, in which young people (ages 13-22) can share 30-second videos on how they are helping to create a toxin-free generation. Entries into the Campaign for a Toxin-Free Generation video contest are eligible to win prizes, including a GoPro Premium camera, Patagonia gift certificates, and Seventh Generation home and personal care products.

There is so much to see as we sail past the United States Naval Academy into the Chesapeake Bay. Along the way, we point out the interesting sights to everyone aboard. All passengers get the opportunity to take a turn at the helm, including the family members who brought their child aboard.

GSCNC Program Aide (PA) Training: Working With Girls of ALL Abilities



Who:Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, & Ambassadors

When: Friday, May 17th at 6pm- Saturday, May 18th at 4pm


Join other teen Girl Scouts on Friday, May 17-Saturday, May 18, 2013 for GSCNC's annual Program Aide Training: Working with Girls of ALL Abilities. 


In addition to receiving general PA training, teens will learn how to ensure that girls with disabilities are fully included in Girl Scouts.  The participants will be given the tools to make accommodations and adaptations for girls of ALL abilities in both a troop setting and a camp setting. Plus, we'll have LOTS of fun!!!


*Please Note* Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors are not eligible to earn the P.A. award--older girls may use this training to fulfill the Council-training requirement of the VIT (Volunteer-in-Training) award. GSCNC will not be releasing any additional information about VIT requirements until August/September, but will allow girls to take this training.

Designed to inspire teen girls to recognize their own abilities, become active in their schools and in their communities. The leadership conference will include interesting activities, exciting workshops, and college preparation. Influential guest speakers such as Catherine Hogan, Public Affairs and Government Relations lobbyist for Verizon; Yvette Alexander, DC City Council; and Robert Sims, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, Washington Gas.  


Cost: *Early Bird Rate* Register by May 31, 2013 and pay just $10

General Registration: $15 after May 31 until June 7, 2013

Cost includes registration, lunch, dinner and conference materials

What's a Dine-Around? Dine-Arounds are informal dinners, brunches, teas or other events that are hosted by Women's Advisory Board members at their homes or businesses.  They are a unique chance to gain insight from successful women and will prove to be an amazing networking session. Please note there is no cost to attend a Dine-Around.
