International Spy Museum
Spy Fest: KidSpy Family Festival

Who: Girl Scout Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors

Could you be a spy? Now's your chance to find out!  Sitting in your comfy chair watching James Bond makes spy tradecraft look easy. Now's your chance to find out if you could be the next 007. Do you have the savvy to beat a lie-detector? The smarts to break a top secret coded message? The wits to create secret writing? The moves of a Ninja? Families are invited to find out how they measure up at the Museum's Annual Spy Fest. Mini-missions, tradecraft demonstrations by the experts, and the chance to try spy skill challenges will give KidSpy agents and their handlers an insider's peek into the shadow world of spying--and who knows, there just may be a spy or two in your midst...

2013 Girl Scout Night

Who: Girl Scouts of All Ages


When: May 11, 2013


Where: Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium

Enjoy a Night with your Troop, family and friends with the Bayhawks.  Girl Scout tickets are $13 and additional may be purchased for family and friends at $11. Feel free to tailgate prior to the game in the parking lot with your Troop and make it an end of the Year event for your Girl Scouts. The Bayahwks Tailgate starts at 4:30 pm and game time is 7:00 pm


Fees:Girl: $13, Adult: $11, Tagalong: $11   


Each Girl Scout in attendance will receive a patch for attendance.  For every Troop in attendance we will announce your Troop Name on our Jumbotron. Every Girl Scout in attendance will be able to participate in the fan tunnel on field prior to the start of the game.

Preparing for a Ball

Who:Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors 

When: January 26 and April 27; Approx. 1 hour long.  

Where: Gadsby's Tavern Museum

Alexandria, VA 22314

Balls were a girl's favorite thing to do in the 18th century.  Explore the tavern where famous balls like George Washington's Birthnight Ball were held. Girls will walk away with their own hedgehog and dance steps after learning about decorative food prep and 18th century dancing.  

Fees: Girl: $6, Adult: $6, Tagalong: $6 (5 and older)

Family Celebration of Earth Day

Enjoy one of Washington's greenest spots by celebrating Earth Day as a family at Tudor Place.  The afternoon's activities will include games, a scavenger hunt, painting flower pots and planting them with seeds from the historic garden. Eco-friendly refreshments will be served.

GSCNC Program Aide (PA) Training: Working With Girls of ALL Abilities



Who:Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, & Ambassadors

When: Friday, May 17th at 6pm- Saturday, May 18th at 4pm


Join other teen Girl Scouts on Friday, May 17-Saturday, May 18, 2013 for GSCNC's annual Program Aide Training: Working with Girls of ALL Abilities. 


In addition to receiving general PA training, teens will learn how to ensure that girls with disabilities are fully included in Girl Scouts.  The participants will be given the tools to make accommodations and adaptations for girls of ALL abilities in both a troop setting and a camp setting. Plus, we'll have LOTS of fun!!!


*Please Note* Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors are not eligible to earn the P.A. award--older girls may use this training to fulfill the Council-training requirement of the VIT (Volunteer-in-Training) award. GSCNC will not be releasing any additional information about VIT requirements until August/September, but will allow girls to take this training.

Dine-Around Series  


Are you working toward your Gold Award? Have you already earned your Gold Award? If so, we'd love to have you join us for one of our Dine-Arounds this season.


What's a Dine-Around? Dine-Arounds are informal dinners, brunches, teas or other events that are hosted by Women's Advisory Board members at their homes or businesses.  They are a unique chance to gain insight from successful women and will prove to be an amazing networking session. Please note there is no cost to attend a Dine-Around.

UMD Tour provided by Kappa Delta Sorority


Kappa Delta Sorority at the University of Maryland would like to invite Senior Girl Scouts and Ambassador Girl Scouts for a campus tour on April 13.


The event is geared toward educating Girl Scouts about school, education and college. We will be taking Girl Scouts on a tour around the University of Maryland's campus, where we will have activities along the way at important stopping points during the tour.  The event will start at 11am and end at 1:30pm.  Starting and ending point will be the KD Chapter House located at: 4610 College Avenue College Park, MD 20740

If you are a troop leader or other volunteer and no longer wish to receive e-Edition from your Service Unit, please contact the person who forwards it to you directly
Please do not use the unsubscribe link below if you are not directly subscribed to e-Edition through council.  The unsubscribe link will delete the person who receives the initial send from council, not yourself.
