Celebrate George on Presidents' Day!
Who: Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes
When: February 18, 2013, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Where: Tudor Place
1644 31st St NW
Washington, DC 20007
Celebrate our country's first President at Tudor Place, whose collections include the largest assemblage of Washington artifacts outside
Mt. Vernon. Visitors will enjoy self-guided tours through the entertaining rooms of the historic mansion and a special exhibit of rare Washington-related objects. These include George Washington's 1775 letter to Martha Washington, one of only three such letters known to exist. Written on the eve of his departure from Philadelphia to take command of the Continental Army, the missive reveals the human and sentimental side of this revered hero. After touring at their own pace, families can enjoy 18th century gaming, dancing, and crafts led by costumed interpreters.
Fees: Girl: $5, Adult: $10
