Clowning & Mime and Lighthouse

Try-It/Badge Workshop

 

Who: Open to all Girl Scouts entering 2nd - 6th grade in Fall 2012

 

When: June 21, 2012, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Brownies and juniors earn your clowning and mine try-it or badge and lighthouse try-it or badge. Have a theatrical day learning about clowns and miming, make tons of crafts such as oversized clown bowtie and glasses, and enjoy games. Girl Scouts will also learn about lighthouses, create a mini lighthouse and more. Last chance to earn these fun and rare retired Try-It and Badge. Girls can register individually, without the entire troop.

 

Fees: Girls: $45, includes all supplies, snacks, and Clowning & Mime Try-It and Lighthouse Badge.

Girl Scout Night at the Chesapeake Bayhawks

Who: Girl Scouts of all ages

 

When: Saturday, June 23, 2012

Pizza starts at 5:45 p.m. and game time is 7:00 p.m.

On June 23 the Bayhawks will be hosting it's Inaugural Girl Scout Night. All Girl Scouts in attendance will receive a commemorative patch, will receive pizza prior to the game and also a game ticket. Parent and family tickets may also be purchased for the event.

 

Fee: Girl $18, Adult $15 Patch and Pre-game Pizza Party

Whitewater Challengers Adventure Center Girl Scout Day

Alexandria Archaeology Summer Camp

Who: Girl Scout Cadettes and Seniors

 

When: Session I: July 16-20, 2012, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

Session II: July 23-27, 2012, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.    

Where: The Alexandria Archaeology Museum, and a real archaeological site in Alexandria. The site, in Fort Ward Park, is part of a former African American neighborhood located near the Civil War fort, and was used as a schoolhouse, then a church, and later, a residence. Part of the building has been uncovered, and campers will help to excavate more of the structure with an eye on finding out new information about the structure and the people who studied, worshiped, and lived in it. Help Alexandria's City archaeologists excavate a real archaeological site. Learn professional excavating, recording, and artifact processing methods. Uncover Alexandria's buried past while protecting the City's valuable historic resources.

 

Fees: $400/session. A non-refundable deposit check of $100/session, payable to the City of Alexandria, is required upon receipt of application to secure your reservations. Please contact Jennifer.Barker@alexandriava.gov to inquire about fee deadlines.
