Want to explore STEM careers?
Who: Girl Scout Cadette troops
Requirements for participation: 10-15 students within the target age range (grades 5-8)
Change the Equation, a STEM-focused nonprofit in Washington, D.C., has created the online learning game iOnFuture, which aims to expose students to the world of STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
Change the Equation would like to make sure that the game is making the impact it promises to within its target age group, fifth- to eighth-graders. Change the Equation is looking for troops to see to what extent the games influence girls' opinions on STEM careers. Interested troops would be introduced to the game suite and play at least once over a period of three weeks, and take pre- and post-tests. For participating, groups will receive one $50 Amazon gift card upon completion. Troops should have at least 10 to 15 students within the target age range (grades 5-8) who can participate.
If you are able to participate in the evaluation or would like more information, please contact Alyssa Schwenk at firstname.lastname@example.org.
