GIRL SCOUT SPOTLIGHT: Troop 111 Girl Scouts from Troop 111 recently earned their Gold Award for their project, 'Girl Power Club.' The troop reached out to Settlement Home, which serves as a home for Austin youth who otherwise would not have a place to stay. Each of the six girls in the troop implemented programs at the home to teach female residents about healthy lifestyles, social interaction and overall confidence. Paige A. says her troop decided to help this particular group because they wanted to interact with and help girls their own age become successful women. For more information on earning your Gold Award, visit our website. |
