GIRL SCOUT SPOTLIGHT: Firehouse Challenge

Starting next week, Oak Hill Service Unit will show thanks to a few hundred hardworking firefighters by providing dinners to their local firehouses. Their goal is to eventually feed every firefighter in the Austin, Round Rock and Georgetown area and it sounds to us like they are the right Girl Scouts for the job! Read full blog here.

Join Girl Scouts!

Recruitment season is here so be sure to spread the good word about Girl Scouts! For information on joining and finding recruitment rallies in your area, visit our website.

 

Register by Sept. 15

On-time membership forms will be due to the council September 15. Troop leaders, forms are due to your SU Registrar no later than September 9 to ensure they have time to meet council deadline. All on-time registrations will receive a 10 percent discount to the shop. For questions, contact the Registration Department. 

 

Donations accepted for Wildfire Victims

GSCTX will accept water, gatorade, ready to eat meals, single serving snacks, lunchables, diapers, baby formula, pet food and first aid kits at our Austin program center during regular business hours. For more information, visit our website.

Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting Coming Soon!

GG2GS will be arriving in Girl Scout shops this month. Those who pre-ordered will be contacted the date of the arrival. There is still time to reserve your copy so pre-order today! For order information, visit the Shop page.

 

FREE Backpacks with Starter Kits

The new program year is just around the corner! Kits include everything a girl needs to start her year and complete her Girl Scout Leadership experience. Girl Scouts will also find a special 100th anniversary pin inside each kit and receive a free backpack with each purchase (while supplies last). For more information, visit the Shop page.

 

Shop and Program Hours

The Brownwood program center and shop will not open until noon on September 13 due to a meeting. The Bryan shop will be open on October 29 due to an October 22 closure for a meeting. Thank you for your understanding.

Race on the River: September 17, Tom Green County

Are you ready for the greatest canoe race in the Central Texas region? Come to San Angelo to put your skills to the test. Compete in the Girl Scout races, canoe in the flag ceremony, or cheer on your sister Girl Scouts.

 

Badge Day: October 1, Erath County

Learn something new about science, math or music at this annual badge extravaganza! Enjoy the Tarleton State campus while you work on those "hard to earn" Try-Its, badges and IPs.

 

Scout-A-Rama: October 7, Burnet County

Kick off the year with the campout of the year! Prepare a skit, cheer or dance in preparation for a talent show. You can also host a Girl Scout activity booth for other attendees to enjoy.

 

STEM Fest: October 8, Travis County

Girl Scouts are on the edge of a techno-revolution! Explore science, technology, engineering and math related activities with help from experts in the field.

Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors are invited to join the Cookie Captain program. Here, they can earn Age Level Service to Girl Scouting and a Cookie Captain completion pin by mentoring a young Girl Scout and assisting with cookie events.
