Austin-area HACA Outreach troops recently organized a community service project that incorporated their love of the outdoors, their neighbors and artistic expression. The girls gathered several flowers and planted them into pots they decorated themselves. The plants will be placed around the community for their friends and family to enjoy on a daily basis. Jerri Sadler, GSCTX Outreach Specialist, says the project teaches the girls another way to serve their community and also how they can help their environment. Girl Scout Brownie Larisa G. was very excited to be involved in the project because it will not only "make [her] neighborhood beautiful" but will also "provide oxygen and cleaner air to the community." Excellent way to "go green" girls!
