Note from CEO Lynelle McKay

To our dedicated Girl Scout family,

What a wonderful first week! I have enjoyed meeting with each and everyone of you that joined us at our meet and greet events around the council. I appreciate your enthusiasm and commitment to Girl Scouts and our number one priority continues to be serving our girls and providing them with the best experience possible. Next week, we will have another meet and greet event in Austin on Tuesday, June 18 and will then head to Brownwood on Wednesday, June 19 and San Angelo on June 20. All events are from 4-6p.m. and will take place at the local area service center.

I hope to see you there and if you are unable to make it to a meet and greet event, feel free to contact us! I would love to hear from you.

Yours in Girl Scouting,
Lynelle McKay

GSCTX SPOTLIGHT

Troop 2038 and 2093 held a book drive at Patsy Sommer ES for Libraries of Love during April. Pflugerville-based Libraries of Love accepts book donations throughout the year and makes an annual delivery to Uganda in the summer. The efforts of the girls truly paid off and they were able to collect more than 750 books for the organization. Great job, ladies!

Troop 2062 recently started a service project to rebuild a Purple Sage Garden that had not been properly cared for over the years. They were able to secure much needed donations from Home Depot. The picture above shows the girls and volunteers after the initial clearing of the land. We'll show updates on their progress periodically! Good luck girls.

Several Girl Scouts from Ladybug Service Unit participated in a Memorial Day celebration at the Liberty Hill Veteran of Foreign Wars. The girls, along with local Boy Scouts, paid tribute to those who have served our country with honor.
