Give Us Barabbas! 3/27/16
Mark 15:15 (KJV)
15 And so Pilate, "WILLING TO CONTENT THE PEOPLE" (italics mine), released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.
HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY!
I do not like to use the Word, "EASTER," as it is only used once in the HOLY BIBLE:
Acts 12:4 (KJV)
4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
It is a name intermingled with a pagan holiday-I prefer RESURRECTION SUNDAY!
It is 5:06 AM on this GLORIOUS RESURRECTION SUNDAY and as usual, I find my self awake-NOT Amanda's fault!
I have fallen into somewhat of a routine of "early to bed, early to rise," and usually spend these wee hours before sun break in PRAYER.
I have my collards and green beans already on the stove as we prepare our holiday feast.
As I visited my dear son on DEATH ROW yesterday, I suddenly received a REVELATION of and from God-you have never heard this word before.
"
WHY DID THE PEOPLE AND THEIR LEADERSHIP CHOOSE BARABBAS ABOVE JESUS TO BE RELEASED?????"

As Joshua and I conversed, God answered this question.
Strangely, it was the "LEADERSHIP" that "PERSUADED the MULTITUDE that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus!"
Matthew 27:20 (KJV)
20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus.
The "LEADERSHIP" could UNDERSTAND and control a Barabbas!!
He was a wicked and sinful man just like they!!!!!!
THEY knew and the people knew what to expect from Barabbas in the future, BUT Jesus they did not know what to expect-they had never before encountered such a Man.
He was NOT contained or controlled by any man or man made doctrine and OWED no man anything!!!
Romans 13:8 (KJV)
8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Jesus was NOT moved or "PERSUADED" by the PEOPLE or the people's leadership!!
John 2:24-25 (KJV)
24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25 And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
Jesus DID NOT need their vote or money OR their "TESTIMONY!"
Jesus DID not need or desire their endorsement or letters of recommendation!!!
So "the people and their leaders" preferred to "dance with a devil FAMILIAR to them!"
RESURRECTION SUNDAY is even more than Jesus rising from the dead-the GREATEST miracle of all time!!
It is a day WE, Christ's disciples, announce to the world that WE too need not its endorsement or approval-its money, fame or power!

Sounds eerily like today, huh!!??
TODAY, announce to YOUR world where YOU stand and WHO you serve!!

15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
