The Co-op needs your opinion! As the Co-op's GM, it is part of my job to make sure the Co-op is properly represented to the community by our brand. We have had a few different visual identities in our over 40 year history and the Board and staff are very excited to help shape the next iteration of the Co-op's identity.
The first step in our rebranding process is gathering feedback from Co-op members. In May, the Board chartered a committee to recommend a new name/visual identity and consult with the Co-op's diverse groups of stakeholders.
Branding is so much more than just a logo.
Entrepreneur Small Business Encyclopedia defines branding as "The marketing practice of creating a name, symbol or design that identifies and differentiates a product from other products." Then says: "An effective brand strategy gives you a major edge in increasingly competitive markets. But what exactly does "branding" mean? Simply put, your brand is your promise to your customer. It tells them what they can expect from your products and services, and it differentiates your offering from that of your competitors.
Your brand is derived from who you are, who you want to be and who people perceive you to be."
