Protecting Our Planet Starts With The Next Generation
People are asking "What can I do to  protect our environment?"

With the U.S. deciding to leave the Paris Accord, never before has there been a more important time to protect our environment and shape the future. Creating a culture of environmental concern and action starts with students. In every school. In every state. Across the U.S. And we can make a green difference. From the ground up.

This spring and summer Project Green Schools is growing a Giving Tree. We are looking for businesses, organizations, government leaders and individuals who share our vision to make a commitment now and help us grow our Giving Tree. We need your help.

Sponsor Spotlights
Project Green Schools is always grateful for our Sponsors. Without them we could not run our award-winning programs.

Current, powered by GE, is not only helping businesses and cities unlock and realize the potential of their environments, but helping youth do the same.   Project Green Schools' mission to develop the next generation of leaders through hands-on, project-based, solutions-based learning is a mission we passionately support.  Our team has been working on developing and executing programs that allow youth to think critically and innovatively for nearly ten years and we are excited to team up with Project Green Schools to take this to the next level.  Current is enthusiastic about this partnership which will advance futures and build stronger communities.

MLT owns more than 350 acres across our member communities, protects another 343 acres through Conservation Restrictions, and has assisted in the conservation of another 900 acres-land that is now town open space, state parks and forests, and state wildlife management areas."

Amazing Work by Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School
Press Release from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional School District  Plastic Bag and Water Bottle bylaws passed
May 9, 2017
The members of the Lincoln-Sudbury High School Environmental Club presented two citizens' petitions to Sudbury Town Meeting on the evening of May 2. Article 35 proposed a bylaw to prevent distribution of thin-film handled plastic bags at stores in town. Article 36 proposed a ban on sale of single-serving plastic bottles of water from merchants in town. The students presented the case about the environmental costs of the creation and disposal of these forms of plastic waste. Members of Sustainable Sudbury Committee had surveyed merchants in town, and presented their findings. After full discussion, Town Meeting members voted to pass both bylaws, by a significant majority.
The bylaws will take effect in June 2018, allowing time for educating the public and the merchants in town about coming changes, and reasons for these new regulations. The message in both cases will be about reducing the source of plastic waste by bringing your own reusable bags to the store, and carrying your own reusable water bottle.
