We've Extended the Campaign!
The Humane Society of Greater Dayton has decided to extend our #GivingTuesday campaign through this Friday. You may be asking yourself why? Above you will see a quick video explaining a case that is happening right now at our shelter.
Our humane agent went out to rescue one injured rabbit and was surprised to discover 19 more living in unsanitary conditions. There was no food, no grass, no water and the rabbits were roaming free outside in urine-saturated mud with no shelter. Many had fur missing, injuries or even had pieces of their ears gone because they were fighting for any scraps of food they could find.
We worked quickly to remove these rabbits, set up an emergency shelter for them and are currently giving them the food, shelter and medical attention they need as the rehabilitate. We are optimistic that in a month or so, many of these rabbit will be placed up for adoption.
From this point through Friday, all donations made for our #GivingTuesday campaign are going straight to these rabbits. Your support is giving them hay and fresh greens, supplies to allow them to feel comfortable and support for the medical expenses required to give them their second chances!
