Program update:

Shannon's LSC!
We are 4 days away from our annual Chinese New Year Party!  Yes - it snuck up on us all -- but with Jane Hoffman 's help this year; and the Columbia U. Lion dance team available to join us -- It's going to be FUN!

As we review the guest list, there are so many families that we wish lived closer so they could celebrate with us. This year I am especially thinking of Elaine and Ella Horton, and Shannon McIvor. These three woman spent a week in Jiangxi with me in October volunteering to gather developmental information and photos for adoptable children on the shared list. Each one is an inspiring, smart and kind individual. Also - to share some exciting news.... Shannon received her LSC for her little boy a couple weeks ago - and we are so excited for her to return to China to bring him home!

As we publish this newsletter it is nice to share good news of children one step closer to being in s family.  There are two families currently in China.  One family from Pennsylvania is completing the adoption of their 13 year old daughter. Another family, from Indiana, is completing the adoption of their two year old daughter! Congratulations!!  Three LSCs have been issued since our last newsletter (for 1 boy and 2 girls). We expect to have two families travel to China in February.

For everyone touched by adoption - we send wishes of joy, health and fortune in the year of the rooster!

Taiwan
Program Update:

We recently shared about Drew on the blog
Have you visited the
Superkids Blog recently? If so, you'll notice that we've been posting a lot more about waiting children from Taiwan! Gladney's Superkids team visited both of our partner agencies, Cathwel and Chung Yi, twice in 2016. During these visits we met almost 70 waiting children - these are children who are ready for their forever families!

Taiwan doesn't allow us to post photos that show a child's full face publicly online, but we have adorable photos showing each child's full smile, goofy laughs, or serious concentration face, that can be shared privately. We also have full profiles which includes medical, developmental, and social history information for most of the children. If you see a child on the blog who you'd like to know more about, please reach out to Mary Chapman at [email protected]

Remember, we have a private Taiwan advocacy Facebook group where we share about waiting children. If you'd like to join the Facebook group, please send a direct message to Mary Chapman on Facebook or email her at [email protected]
