Apply to be an Ohio State Signature Events Chair

If you are a student interested in putting your organizational and leadership skills to the test, then you should become the co-chair, or chair-elect, of one of our signature events - Thanksgiving or Taste of OSU

The Office of International Affairs is accepting applications from students who want to learn more about running a planning committee, budgeting, time management and communications. Applicants for the Thanksgiving co-chair position should be rising juniors and seniors. Students interested in applying for the Taste of OSU chair-elect position will need to be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in spring 2019. If selected as Taste of OSU chair-elect, the student will be mentored throughout the Taste of OSU 2018 planning process so he or she will be ready to assume the position of chair of Taste of OSU in February 2019.

More information can be found on our website, and applications can be found here. Please apply before Friday, March 24. Contact Alessa Rosa with questions.

Volunteer at Pre-Departure Orientation
Students returning to China for the summer can now apply to volunteer at Pre-Departure Orientation with the Office of International Affairs.

Every summer, The Ohio State University offers a Pre-Departure Orientation for new Chinese students who plan to attend Ohio State. The Pre-Departure Orientation offers future students and their families an opportunity to learn more about college life, meet other Ohio State students and university staff and learn important information before traveling to the United States. This year, Pre-Departure Orientation will take place in Shanghai on June 16 and 18, and in Beijing on June 23 and 24.

Students interested in volunteering should fill out an application before March 15 at 11:55 p.m.

The Office of International Affairs will not incur any expenses related to travel or accommodations for the pre-departure orientation volunteers. There will be a mandatory meeting on June 15 for volunteers in Shanghai and one on June 22 for volunteers in Beijing, and dinner will be provided.  You must attend if you are accepted to be a volunteer in that city. Lunch at the hotel on Pre-Departure Orientation days (June 16, 18, 23 and 24) will also be included.

Help us welcome new Chinese students into our Buckeye family!

This anonymous and voluntary survey is available to all students through Friday, March 10.

The results will be used to guide policies to encourage a healthy, positive and nondiscriminatory environment on campus. Academic Workshop
