U.S. Airport Satisfaction Has Risen,
Despite CrowdsAirport

Traveler satisfaction with U.S. airports improved in 2016, even though many larger airports' traveler volumes are higher than their intended capacities, according to J.D. Power's 2016 North America Airport Satisfaction Study, based on responses from almost 39,000 North American travelers.

Overall, airports earned a score of 731 on a 1,000-point scale, up six points from the 2015 study. Among large airports, the average satisfaction rating was 724, up five points, and satisfaction at medium-sized airports improved eight points to 760. For more information, click here.

Effective November 29, 2016, citizens and nationals of the People's Republic of China (PRC) who have been issued a 10-year B-1, B-2 or B1/B2 (tourist/business) visa will also be required to apply for Electronic Visa Update System (EVUS) approval prior to traveling to the United States. The new regulation was implemented by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

EVUS is an online, web-based system that determines the eligibility of visitors with a 10-year visa to travel to the United States. Once approved, EVUS is valid for two years or until the traveler's visa or passport expires, whichever comes first.

Delta is Testing Free Meals in Domestic Coach Class -
Years after Delta Air Lines, like all U.S. carriers, removed substantial free food from domestic economy class, the carrier is testing snacks, such as sandwich wraps, on some flights between the East Coast and California.

Delta has not indicated on exactly which flights passengers can expect food, or even how long the temporary program will last. However, a spokeswoman confirmed the airline is "currently testing complimentary meals" on some trans-continental flights.

During the test, the spokeswoman said, Delta is comparing customer satisfaction scores on flights with food to scores on flights without it "to determine the impact on the in-flight experience." Once the process is completed, Delta will share more details about its plans, the spokeswoman said. Presumably, if customers are noticeably happier on free food flights, snacks might remain.

As TSA's Lines Grow, Agents Seek to Promote PreCheck  -
All it takes is one glance at recent airport security lines to realize that enrollment in the TSA PreCheck program is not growing as fast as had been expected.

But that is not due to a lack of effort on the part of travel agents.

Travel professionals have quietly been on the front lines in encouraging clients to enroll in both the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) PreCheck program and Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Global Entry program, which gives members PreCheck benefits.
