China to Start Fingerprinting Foreign Visitors Fingerprinting

Millions of foreigners visiting China annually will have their fingerprints collected. The new regulation began on Friday, February 10, 2017, after being announced by China's Ministry of Public Security on Thursday, February 9, 2017.

The requirement will apply to most people between the ages of 14 and 70. Foreigners holding a diplomatic passport, and Chinese citizens from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan will be exempted, the ministry said.

Fingerprint logging will start Friday in Shenzhen, the southern Chinese city bordering Hong Kong, before being gradually implemented elsewhere.

Comparing the Big Three's Basic Economy Fares
American

In February, American Airlines is introducing a Basic Economy fare that, like United's Basic Economy offering, precludes passengers from carrying on bags that require overhead storage.

While the influx of the big three airlines all implementing Basic Economy Fares can provide cost-effective options for leisure travelers, they may not be right for business travelers. From not having assigned seating to not being able to carry on a bag, business travelers may not benefit. We've outlined the features of the Basic Economy Fares.

President Trump's Travel Plan Halted -
There has been a halt to President Trump's travel ban. The ban has moved to a higher U.S. court for review.

The Trump administration's travel ban and the confusion around it has been creating headaches for some in the U.S. travel industry. The order banned travel to the U.S. from seven mostly Muslim countries, but it has some people so confused they aren't sure where they can travel.

Travel Incorporated will be monitoring the progress on this issue, and we will continue to report on our findings.
Southwest Reservation System Disruption - May 8th  -
Southwest Airlines is migrating their reservation system and the final cutover date is scheduled for May 8th

What does this mean for travelers?
Travelers attempting to book a Southwest flight that initiates before May 8th and completes after May 8th will need to issue the trip in two separate one way tickets.

Travelers attempting to book a round trip ticket in Concur that crosses over May 8th will receive an error message. The Travel Incorporated online technical support team is aware of this migration and will provide guidance to the travelers to book the flight as two separate one way tickets as a work around.

Flights that initiate and complete before May 8th, or initiate and complete after May 8th will not be affected.
