You don't have to be Irish to have fun on St. Patrick's Day
Admiral Coontz Recreation Center has lots of fun things to do on St. Patrick's Day and every day. Since schools are out of session Friday, come down to the Rec Center and try to find 5 shamrocks! Everyone who finds 5 shamrocks gets a prize! While you're at the Rec Center, try out pickleball, play with the Imagination Playground building blocks, solve a puzzle or try to make a basket.
The Admiral Coontz Recreation Center is open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday March 17. Here's some more information about the rec center.

It's Not Too Late Senior Expo
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday April 20 at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center
About 600 senior adults are expected to attend. Let's get together to help clean up Hannibal! Meet any time 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 22 at Y'men's Pavilion, 105 Hill St. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Festival of Country Music
6-9 p.m. Saturday May 6 at Admiral Coontz Recreation Center 
Marty Miller will be the emcee and will play rhythm guitar and Betty Miller will play drums. Other musicians in the house band for the Festival of Country Music will be Harlan Lane, guitar; Wendell Glance, guitar; Jack Owen, steel guitar; Larry Williams, bass guitar and George Roberson, guitar. Guest musicians and singers will be Tony Gilliland, Nick Long, Gloria Reeves, Glenn and Shirley Cornelius, Marshall and Mila Suddarth, Ronn Pashia, Dennis Ebers and others.  The weather is starting to cooperate so it's time to Get Into Shape at our new Fitness Station at the west end of Bear Creek Trail.
The station features 24 exercises and combines functional fitness and body-weight training on three skill levels.

Walk to better health! Join the Hannibal Walking Club! It's a fun, free way to keep track of your miles ....

Huckleberry Park
As construction at the Huckleberry Park shelter goes on, the playground is still open. 
The Born Learning Trail is an interactive series of 10 outdoor games around Huckleberry Park playground.  There are several new pieces of all-inclusive playground equipment, including two handicap-accessible swings and musical instruments at Huckleberry Park playground. 

Sodalis Nature Preserve 
The 2-mile paved walking path at Hannibal’s newest park is part of a 185-acre park property that was given to the city to preserve endangered bats. Here's a YouTube video explaining its origin.  Access to the Nature Preserve will be available off Ely Street, south of the Dempsey Dog Park and Bear Creek, 800 Ely St. Only non-motorized recreational activity is allowed, such as hiking, running and biking.Click on trail map here:
