Greetings!
It's Sunday and I am sick in bed with a cold. Pumped up on vitamin C and zinc I can just see it now, my white blood cells moving through my blood stream like Ms. Pac Man. Ok, so I am really dating myself.
There is no doubt that a strong immune system is your best defense against a cold or flu. Vitamin C, Zinc and Oregano provide excellent support to prevent and speed recovery from colds and flus.
Personally, I love Platinum Naturals Oregano 8. which has helped me get back on my yoga mat within a few days more than once. To support your immune system through cold and flu season, try 1 capsule per day for good defense.
Health and happiness,

Smoothie on the Run
Once you have tried this you won't miss the Tim's drive through. This protein packed smoothie will help stabilize blood sugar and avoid the 3pm slump. Protein is also a great immune booster.
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 ripe banana
1/2 cup fresh or frozen berries
1 scoop vanilla whey protein isolate
Add almond milk into a blender. Add remaining ingredients. Blend well until smooth. Enjoy. |

Yoga Breathing Tip
Keep your awareness on your exhalation and the inhalation will take care of itself. |
How do you clean your yoga mat?
My yoga mat gets a lot of mileage. It's been on my deck, dock, up north at the cottage, numerous yoga classes, and even travelled to Florida with me. If your mat is anything like mine, it has makeup and dirty spots on it or maybe an odour.
With our faces and bare skin on our mats regularly it certainly deserves a little TLC. My yoga mat has gone through the washing machine many times. Set on gentle, with a tad of all-natural detergent such as Ecos and you will be amazed at the results. I then put it in the dryer on low heat until damp, and hang to dry.
Most good quality yoga mats are machine washable, however if you are weary try using diluted lemon juice and baking soda on a facecloth to rub out the stains. Rinse off in the shower and hang to dry.
Our feet and hands spend a lot of time on the mat. To reduce the transfer of body oils and dirt to your mat, it's a good idea begin with clean feet and wash your hands before class. This will make your practice that much more inviting. |
