 Greetings! All of you have started the New Year off on an amazing foot. I'm seeing a lot of lean bodies around the gym and fitness levels are skyrocketing across the board. More than anything we're getting healthier and proving that despite busy schedules there's always time to eat well, recover, sleep, and train with focus and intensity. I couldn't be happier. You represent everything this gym is about. People ask me all the time how I get away with no marketing budget. I tell them it's easy. I have 200 dedicated, hard working billboards all over town selling my product every day with their results. January was a record month for us. Thank you again for your trust and support.

Open Gym
We've added open gym times to the Mindbody schedule. Be advised that open gym is only for people training twice a day. For more information on twice-a-day training I suggest you read my article here.
 
If you're interested in starting two-a-days see Coach Chris to make sure it's an appropriate course of action. If it is I will assist you in organizing your training schedule.  
Class Cancellations For Website Intro Video
 On February 9th and 10th we have a production crew coming to shoot a promo video for our website. We have closed all classes after 12:15 on those days. We apologize for the inconvenience.  

Pricing Structure Update

After much thought I've decided NOT to raise prices for current Go Primal members or anyone who signs up before March 1st. I am boundlessly grateful for what you've allowed this gym to become so I'm grandfathering you in.
 
Be advised, you must remain an active member. We consider active members any person who has purchased and/or trained in the last three months.  
 
That said, anyone interested in becoming a member should try to schedule an evaluation prior to March 1.

Finding time to exercise on the road can be challenging. However, taking 10-20 minutes a day to move your body goes a long way toward maintaining not only your fitness but also your sanity. Between sitting down for hours on airplanes and/or cars and eating less than healthy food, it's difficult to stay on track. Being on the road is not a license to forgo making good decisions though. Sample Travel Workouts 
 
  • 800m Run + 50x Airsquats - 3 rounds for time
  • 500x Airsquats for time
  • 200m Run + 20x Airsquats + 10x Push-ups - 5 rounds for time
  • Sprint 100m + 10x Push-ups - Once every 90s. 10 rounds
  • Alternating Tabata (20s Work/10s Rest): Airsquats + Burpees
  • 5x Burpees + 5x Pull-ups + 5x Tuck Jumps - 20 rounds
  • 10-1 Ladder: Burpees + 100m Run + 100m Walk Back
  • 21-15-9: Frog Jumps + Push-ups
  • Accumulate a total of 8 minutes doing a Handstand against the wall
  • Run 2 miles. Every 2 minutes do 30x Airsquats or 10x Burpees

Holiday Fat Loss Contest WinnerCongratulations Alana Gurley for winning the 2011 Holiday Fat Loss contest. Alana dropped 8 lbs and lost an impressive 8% bodyfat in just 3 months. The only thing more impressive than losing 8% bodyfat is the fact that she lost it over the holidays. Impressive indeed! Be sure to congratulate Alana when you see her.
 
Athlete of the Month - January 2012
 
 
Congratulations Marissa Frazer! This month was a tough choice. There were 4-5 athletes I thought were very deserving of January's award. But in the end Marissa was just too good to deny.

One evening during an advanced barbell session we finished the workout with 50x OHS, 50x Front Squats, and 50x Back Squats. Marissa did 50 consecutive back squats at 155#!!!! That sealed the deal for me. Great work Marissa. Your youth and energy is contagious.
